Therapy That Understands Infertility, Grief, & Everything In Between
When you're navigating infertility, fertility treatment, or reproductive loss, you deserve a therapist who doesn't need the basics explained to them. I offer individual therapy grounded in both clinical training and a genuine understanding of how difficult this journey is.
Infertility Brings On a Particular Kind of Exhaustion
…the emotional weight of treatment, the anxiety of the two-week wait, the grief of a loss others may not fully understand, and the strain it can place on your relationships, your body, and your sense of what your future looks like.
If you're navigating the unique pain from the unrelenting cycle of trying to conceive and growing your family, or maybe even exploring the question of when to keep going versus when to imagine a different path forward, this is what I do.
In our sessions, you'll have a space to process the full weight of what you're carrying without needing to justify or soften any of it. We'll also work together on practical support: coping with medical appointments and procedures, re-writing your reproductive narrative, navigating conversations with loved ones, and finding clarity as you make decisions about what's next.
I believe you already carry strength, even in the middle of grief and uncertainty. My role is to help you access it.
Together, We’ll Work Through:
Infertility that is influenced by female, male, combined, and unexplained factors
IVF, IUI, and other assisted reproductive technology (ART)
Donor conception, egg/sperm donation, and gestational surrogacy
Pregnancy loss, including miscarriage and stillbirth
Fertility-related trauma and difficult birth experiences
Deciding when to continue treatment vs. exploring other paths forward
Anxiety during pregnancy after loss or infertility
Reproductive stress and grief within LGBTQ+ family-building journeys
I also work with clients outside of the reproductive grief space, providing therapeutic support for adults with historical childhood wounds and those experiencing major life adjustments, as well as overwhelm and burnout.
Therapy Sessions Built For You
All sessions are client-focused, meaning they will adapt to what you need, not a pre-determined structure or agenda. When we’re working together, you can expect:
A safe space that's consistently warm, honest, and grounding, even when we're discussing hard things
Full, validating attention as you process pain and loss
Gentle guidance when you're ready to work through stuck points
Full acceptance of who you are, and where you are in the process
I will always take you seriously, listen closely, respect your emotions and decisions, and I will advocate for you when it matters most. My goal is for you to leave our work together with real relief, greater clarity, and tools to navigate what comes next.
And you can always expect to be fully welcomed here, exactly as you are. I'm committed to providing culturally responsive, affirming care for clients of every race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic background.
Whatever you bring into this space, every part of your story belongs here.
Therapy Sessions
Now that you know what to expect from me, here's what our time together actually looks like, step by step.
-
A no-pressure conversation to share what's bringing you to therapy, ask any questions, and to ensure it’s a good fit for both of us.
It's completely okay to take your time with this decision, even if that means talking with a few other therapists first. I want you to find the right person, whether that's me or someone else. If we're both feeling aligned, we'll schedule your first session.
-
After the consultation, if we decide to move forward, our first full session (intake) will dive deeper into your history, what you're navigating, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. This session also helps me understand your needs clearly enough to build a plan that's genuinely tailored to you. | 60 Minutes
-
After the intake, we will move to ongoing sessions at a pace and cadence that works for you. Most clients meet weekly or biweekly at a consistent, predictable time, though we can also start more sporadically and adjust as needed. Some clients eventually move to a lower-frequency maintenance schedule once they're feeling steadier. | 50-55 minutes
-
In-person sessions are available Tuesdays and Thursdays at my office near Mt. Tabor in SE Portland. Telehealth sessions are available Monday through Thursday, for clients located anywhere in the state of Oregon.
Resilience isn't about doing it alone. It's about knowing when to let someone walk with you.
FAQ
-
Reproductive trauma refers to the emotional and psychological impact of experiences like infertility, pregnancy loss, traumatic birth, or difficult fertility treatment. It can show up as anxiety, grief, intrusive thoughts, a sense of loss of control, or difficulty trusting your body, and it's a valid, treatable response to what you've been through.
-
Yes. Grief after miscarriage or stillbirth is real grief, even when it isn't always recognized that way by the people around you. Therapy offers a space to process that loss fully without needing to minimize it, rush through it, or explain why it matters.
-
Very much so. Many clients describe feeling like they're "holding their breath" throughout a pregnancy after loss or infertility because they know all too well that a positive test doesn't guarantee a live birth. That anxiety doesn't mean something is wrong with you; it means you understand exactly what's at stake, and it's something we can work through together.
-
This is more common than most people realize. Joy and grief can exist at the same time! You can love your baby completely and still carry sadness for the losses that came before, the pregnancy you don't quite trust yet, or the person you were before infertility changed you. None of that makes you ungrateful. It makes you human.
-
Learning this kind of information later in life can bring up complicated grief around identity, family history, and questions you may not have known you had. Feelings of sadness, anger, and betrayal, and lost identity are all valid responses, not something to push past quickly. As a therapist trained and listed on the Donor-Conceived Competency Registry, this is an area I specifically understand and welcome working with you on.
-
Yes. Infertility and loss can put real strain on partnerships, friendships, and family relationships, even the well-meaning ones. Many clients find it helpful to process these shifts in therapy, both to understand what's happening and to find ways to communicate through it.
-
Yes. I provide affirming, informed support for LGBTQ+ individuals and couples navigating donor conception, surrogacy, and the unique stressors that can come with building a family.
-
While my practice primarily supports women, I do occasionally work with men navigating infertility and reproductive loss as well. If this is you, please reach out. I'm happy to discuss whether we'd be a good fit.
-
Yes. I also work with clients navigating significant life adjustments, generalized grief and loss, and those wanting to explore how early life experiences and childhood trauma may be affecting their current relationships, parenting, or day-to-day life.
My mission is to support you while you navigate stressful decisions and cope with unexpected left turns in life. We will work together to gain clarity on next steps and to learn how to thrive in your current life.
-
No. I provide individual psychotherapy and mental health support, not third-party reproduction assessments or consultations.
-
I want you to receive the most appropriate level of care for what you're navigating. I'm not able to provide higher levels of care, such as inpatient or intensive outpatient treatment, or specialized treatment for eating disorders or substance use. If any of these apply to you, I'm happy to help connect you with a referral during our consultation call.
-
Yes. I am in-network with Moda Health, Aetna, First Choice Health, and Trillium Community Health Plan.
-
If your insurance is out-of-network, I can provide you with a superbill: a document you submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement, based on your plan's out-of-network benefits. Reach out if you have questions about this process.

Individual Intake/assessment (initial appointment) $225
50-55 min individual session $175

Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of expected costs for services. If you're paying out-of-pocket, I'll provide you with a Good Faith Estimate outlining the anticipated cost of therapy. You have the right to request this estimate at any time, and to dispute a bill that's substantially higher than the estimate provided.
